Jacket

The body is knitted in one piece to the armholes.

Back and Fronts:
Cast on 125 (143) sts. Work 1 WS row in purl, then continue in check pattern.
After 13 (15) cm, divide for fronts and back:

  • Work 29 (32) sts for the right front and leave on a holder.
  • Bind off 7 sts for the right armhole, work 53 (65) sts for the back, leave on a holder.
  • Bind off 7 sts for the left armhole, work the remaining 29 (32) sts for the left front.

At 20.5 (24) cm, shape the neckline: bind off from the left edge 6 sts once, then in every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, and 1 st twice.
At 25 (28.5) cm, bind off the remaining 16 (19) shoulder sts.
Work the right front symmetrically.

For the back, work across the 53 (65) sts to 25 (28.5) cm, then bind off all sts.

Sleeves:
Cast on 37 (43) sts. Work 1 WS row in purl, then continue in check pattern starting with 1 edge st and 1 knit st.
Increase at both sides:

  • For smaller size: 12×1 st every 4th row
  • For larger size: 3×1 st every 6th row, then 9×1 st every 4th row = 61 (67) sts.
At 17 (19) cm, bind off all sts.

Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams, set in sleeves, and sew sleeve and side seams.
For the collar, pick up 83 (95) sts along the neckline edge.
Work 1 row knit, 6 rows in stockinette, then 18 rows in check pattern. Bind off all sts.

Crochet edging: 1 round single crochet, 1 round picot edging (1 ch, 1 picot = 3 ch, 1 sc into first ch, skip 1 st, 1 sc).
Sew buttons on left front; button through the picot loops on the right front.

Dress

Worked in the round to the armholes.

Cast on 228 (252) sts. Work 1 round knit, 1 round purl, then continue in lace pattern.
At 27 (30) cm, work 1 round knit, decreasing evenly by knitting 2 sts together across the round = 114 (138) sts.

Continue in check pattern for 4 (6) cm, then divide for armholes:

  • Work 53 (65) sts for left back, bind off 8 sts for armhole.
  • Work 49 (61) sts for front, place on holder.
  • Bind off 8 sts for right armhole, work remaining 49 (61) sts for back.

For armhole shaping: decrease 2 sts once on each side in every 2nd row.
At 10 (13) cm from division, shape neckline: bind off center 9 (13) sts and work each side separately, binding off 2 sts twice and 1 st three times at neckline edge.
At 42 (49) cm, bind off shoulder sts (9/13 each).

Work front as back.
Crochet edges as for jacket. Attach 2 buttons to each front strap and fasten to back straps with picot loops.

Hat

Cast on 71 (77) sts.
Work: 1 WS row purl, 1 RS row knit, 1 WS row purl.
Continue in lace pattern starting from Row 3.
At 15 (16) cm, bind off all sts.
Fold in half and sew the top seam.

Crochet the cast-on edge with 1 round single crochet and 1 round picot.

Pick up 75 (81) sts along the lower edge, work:
1 WS row knit, then 1 lace round (1 yo, k2tog).
Next round: purl all sts and yarn overs.
Work 1 more RS knit row, then bind off all sts purlwise.
Crochet 1 round single crochet and 1 round picot.

Twist a cord 85 cm long (in two strands), thread through the lace holes. Make two 3 cm pom-poms and sew them to the hat corners.

Socks

Foot length: 10 (12) cm

Cast on 36 (42) sts on double-pointed needles.
Work 1 round knit, then 12 (15) rounds in check pattern.
Next round (eyelet): (yo, k2tog) around, decreasing 2 sts in size 12 cm version by knitting 3 sts together twice = 36 (40) sts.
Continue in stockinette, knitting all yarn overs in first round.

Work heel on 18 (20) sts (1st and 4th needles) as follows:

Heel shaping (short rows):
Follow instructions for double stitches as in the original; continue until 6 (8) sts remain at center.
Knit 2 rounds over all sts, picking up both loops of double stitches as one.
Work second half of heel symmetrically.

When the foot measures 8 (9.5) cm, shape toe: knit 2 sts together at the start of each needle in every round until 8 sts remain. Cut yarn and draw through remaining sts.

Crochet upper edges: 1 round sc, 1 round picot.
Make a twisted cord 50 cm long, thread through the eyelet row, and tie in front.
